Elastotek Rubber

Testing laboratory
MDR - Vulcanization Rheometer

The MDR can be used to measure the crosslinking kinetics or the crosslinking rate of the rubber compound.
This is required for setting the vulcanization parameters and also serves as quality assurance.
Shore-A Hardness

Shore A hardness is a measure for determining the hardness of elastomeric materials. It is determined using a durometer that measures the penetration depth of a standardized pin. The scale ranges from 10 (very soft) to 90 (very hard) and is useful in selecting suitable materials for technical applications and for quality assurance.
Rebound resilience

The rebound resilience of elastomers according to ISO 4662 can be measured using a pendulum hammer and is an important parameter for assessing the elastic behavior of elastomeric materials.
Compression set

The compression set is a measure of the permanent deformation after a defined deformation for a specific time and temperature. The compression set is an important parameter for elastomer materials. A low compression set corresponds to a high elastic recovery of the elastomer.
Tensile tests

To characterize the mechanical properties of rubber compounds, tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength resistance can be determined.
Aging tests
Aging tests are used to test the long-term behavior of materials under accelerated conditions. Aging processes are simulated through exposure to temperature, UV radiation, humidity, ozone, or chemical substances. The results help predict and optimize the service life and durability of a material.
Spectrophotometer
Color measurement with the Konica Minolta CM-503d spectrophotometer enables precise color analysis through spectral reflectance measurement. The device captures colors objectively and reproducibly by splitting light into defined wavelength ranges and measuring the reflectance. It is used in industry, quality control, and research to detect color deviations and ensure consistent color results.
Abrasion Tester

The abrasion test according to DIN ISO 4649 is a standardized method used to determine the abrasion resistance of elastomeric materials. In this test, the sample is pressed against and moved over a rotating drum covered with abrasive paper. The contact pressure, number of rotations, and test distance are precisely defined. The result is reported as the abrasion volume in mm³.
